The 2025 ordinary meeting of EACC was held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on November 18, 2025, at St. Padre Pio Pastoral Center. The total membership consists of fifteen individuals, with five absent and ten present. The meeting was officially commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 6:30, presided over by His Excellency Archbishop Tadewos Ruwaichi. The agendas discussed by the members included:
- Reading and approval of the minutes of the previous meeting;
- Election of EACC presidential council;
- Updates about the circumscriptions;
- Approval of EACC Ratio formationis localis;
- Discussion on the possibility of having annual publication;
- Discussion on the possibility of having various commissions;
- Discussing the possibility of having an EACC legal department.
The meeting began with the reading, correction, and approval of the minutes from the extraordinary meeting held in Addis Ababa on February 19, 2025. Subsequently, the members engaged in discussions on each agenda item. The outcomes of the meeting were as follows:
- The members recognized that Africa is the largest recipient of formation subsidies from Curia; however, they acknowledged the need for continued assistance while emphasizing the importance of working diligently to achieve self-sufficiency. They requested a report from the visitors of formation secretaries. It was decided that St. Francis College in Addis Ababa should be seriously considered as a second option for EACC philosophy students. To finalize this matter, the conference established a team comprising seven brothers.
- Senior representatives from the nine circumscriptions provided brief presentations on the status of their respective areas.
- To invigorate the activities of JPIC, they agreed to thoroughly understand the subject matter and proceed effectively.
- The efforts made thus far to prepare the Ratio Formationis localis of EACC have not yielded results for various reasons, necessitating a new approach following the established structure, which includes: How St. Francis is perceived through the sensibilities. The participants have established a team made up of seven persons and set May 2026 as a deadline that the work to be finalised.
The meeting is adjourned on November 18, 2025 at 18:30
