Capuchin Assembly of Major Superiors of Africa (CAMSA) is an association of the Major Superiors of the Capuchin Friars Minor living in Africa. The Members of the Assembly are the Provincial Ministers and Custos of the circumscriptions present in twenty-seven African countries. These are the Capuchin Province of Angola, the Capuchin Custody of Bénin, the Capuchin Delegate of Burkina Faso, the Capuchin Custody of Cameroon, the Capuchin Custody of Cap Vert, the Capuchin Custody of Congo, the Capuchin Custody of Côte d’Ivoire, the Capuchin Province of Eritrea, the Capuchin Province of Ethiopia, the Capuchin Delegate of Gabon, the Capuchin Delegate of Ghana, the Capuchin Delegate of Guinée Equatoriale, the Capuchin Custody of Kenya, the Capuchin Province of Madagascar, the Capuchin Custody of Malawi, the Capuchin delegate of Mauritius, the Capuchin Custody of Mozambique, the Capuchin delegate of Namibia, the Capuchin Custode of Nigeria, the Capuchin Custody of South Africa, the Capuchin delegate of South Sudan, the Capuchin Delegate of Sudan, the Capuchin Province of Tanzania, the Capuchin Custode of Tchad-RCA, the Capuchin Custody of Uganda, the Capuchin Custody of Zambia and the Capuchin Custody of Zimbabwe.
The Assembly has its own statutes, approved by the General Minister of the Order with the consent of its councilors, through which all its governance is regulated. Accordingly, the Assembly makes its plenary meeting once a year in any one of the member countries, while having its office in Addis Ababa. The delegates and domus presentiae of any territory and any General Councilor can participate in the meeting with passive voice; while the General Minister with active voice. The Assembly has a presidential council composed of the president, vice-president, two secretaries, and one councilor. The offices of the president and the vice president are alternated. All members of the presidential council shall serve for a term of two years. They can be re-elected only once. Each jurisdiction contributes to the funds of the Assembly.
